Kattegat – CD release concert
“Introducing the Duo Russo & Vilensky, a successful combination of the elegance of the cello, with the passion of the bandoneon, transcending limitations imposed by genres and styles, in pursuit of expressing authenticity and creative freedom”.
The Duo Russo & Vilensky, formed by the Italian pianist and bandoneonist Paolo Russo and the Latvian cellist Ruslan Vilensky, was born in September 2013 and has been active since, on the Danish scene, as well as in the Baltic countries. During their upcoming release tour in Denmark, where they will present their first album “KATTEGAT”, they will be accompanied by a string ensemble formed by excellent Latvian musicians: Aleksejs Bahirs (violin), Katrina Rosuscan (violin), Elina Andrianova (viola) and Viktors Velicko (contrabass). The repertoire is almost entirely revolving around Paolo Russo’s original compositions and arrangements, although it will offer also a small excursion into the works of both old and contemporary composers (O. Strok, A. Piazzolla, D. Schissi).
