Screening and talk by the Italian artist Stefano Cagol at the Greenlandic Representation in Copenhagen as part of the project ICE MELTING ICE.
Between ice and time. Before ICE MELTING ICE
Thanks to the hospitality of Grønlands Repræsentation, Stefano Cagol, an artist from the Italian Alps on the Swiss-Austrian border, will present an informal selection of videos and stories about his work dedicated to ice and fire, starting with The Ice Monolith, presented at the 2013 Venice Biennale.
Last year, Stefano Cagol had the opportunity to spend some time in Ilulissat, where he was able to observe and touch the icebergs in their environment, unique and witnesses of time.
2025 is the UNESCO year for the preservation of glaciers, so even more of a stimulus to try to imagine a desirable future between us and the ecosystem.
Upon his return from Greenland with the Italian Cultural Institute in Copenhagen, Stefano Cagol had the pleasure of inviting and hosting Inuuteq Storch for a meeting and highlighting his participation in the 2024 Venice Biennale.
Cagol then presented some of his Greenlandic videos during the Arktisk Festival, hosted at the Grønlands Repræsentation headquarters.
On this occasion, he was able to see a live exhibition featuring a series of works by the artist Ivínguak` Stork Høegh.
Stefano Cagol then had the opportunity to invite her to an exhibition in Italy, entitled COME GHIACCIO (AS ICE), still open, at Castel Belasi, an art center for eco thought in the Alps, which he himself directs.
This journey tells us about art that creates bridges and dialogue.
